ANDY MOORE
Director / Choreographer

Andy Moore is a major creative force with over 13 years of teaching and dancing experience within two dance industries. He has choreographed performed and taught classes and workshops all over the UK within all ages groups and abilities and continues to be a driving force within the street dance community.

Born in Farnborough Kent in 1974 Andy first influences in dance was seeing the Michael Jackson video THRILLER and inspired by the choreography and creativeness and pure skill of the dancing and although it took another 14yrs to get into the street dance industry THRILLER was always an inspiration.

Andy's dancing really started considerably late for a dancer at the age of 21 he was inspired after going to a Salsa concert (1997) in Crawley in by seeing two amazing dancers dancing with a variety of ladies who were Paul and Richard Marcel (Choreographer for BBC Strictly Come Dancing) which the following week Andy took up Salsa classes with the Marcel Brothers. After 3 months Andy was hooked and was then dancing Salsa all over the South East of the UK four nights a week. In 2000 after coming out of a nitemare relationship Andy decided it was time to use his knowledge of Salsa dancing and inspire others by starting up his own dance company Salsa Latina initially opening classes in Horley, Surrey (Nr Gatwick Airport) which were a huge success and was later asked that year by top Salsa promoter Salsa UK to be part of their teaching team to teach at their various venues in South London and the South east this hot latin dance that was sweeping the UK at the time. After a about 6 months Andy was teaching at all of Sasla UK venues from Brixton, Croydon, Bromley, Tunbridge Wells, London and also asked by other promoters to teach for them on a weekly basis in Brighton and Rochester and Dartford.

Due to his continuing popularity Andy was fortunate enough to one the few UK teachers who was invited to teach at the very first UK Salsa congress in Bognor where 1800 Salsa dancers from all over the UK come together on an annual basis which was an amazing experience teaching in front of class sizes of 300 people.

Then in 2003 when dating a partner at the time she took him to Pienapple dance studios after expression interest in Street dance and hip hop where he first experienced some amazing talent within the street dance industry and was totally hooked on this funky, exciting and challenging form of dance. After that inital dancing shock of trying something totally different to what he had done before he was off to Pineapple dance studios (London) every saturday squeezing 3/4 classes a time with some of the UK's best talent in hip hop and street dance which was amazing and challenging at the same time.

After recieving a teaching qualification by Nov 2004 alot of the Salsa dance teaching work dried up which pushed him to set up what is now known as SUDC (Street Urban Dance Co) within Oakwood sport centre in his home town of Horley which he resided in from 1980 to 2002. The class numbers grew strength to strength and opened subsequent venues in Crawley, Farnham, Tunbridge Wells, Croydon and Sutton through 2005 which sparked the inspiration to put on his own dance event in 2005 called "DAY OF DANCE". Day of Dance was an event of 12 hrs of dance workshops where people from the public could try various dance styles with the best teachers in their field of dance which was a huge success.

Through 2005 to the present Andy continues to increase his popularity teaching at not only his own dance classes but teaching at other dance schools providing workshops for schools, colleges but also at major dance events making learning to dance fun and funky.
